About the Village of Secinaro

Using the Motorway from Pescara Airport or the same from Rome's Airports, leave it at the Raiano turnoff and follow directions through the
villages to enter the Village Square in Secinaro (Piazza Degli Eroi).

As you enter the Village you will come into the Piazza degli Eroi (Heroes
Square) the “Start Here” for all your trips out from Secinaro!
From here you can park up, take a rest and take in the panorama before you get
ready for your short walk up the hill to the Apartment.
Facing outwards from the Local Bar, Hopefully, take the Tarmac Road to your left
named Via Roma until you get to the Farmacia (Chemist). From here you can’t
go wrong, just turn right and walk up hill until I say stop!
About half way up the hill, you will come to the turning circle, a No Parking and
a No Entry Sign I think - here, just past a big house, you take a Right Turn down
a little cobbled bit, down a few steps on your Right, then go Left to the covered
Veranda.

The Veranda and outside space is a good place for quiet rest, a private celebration or for smoke but
PLEASE, no smoking in the Apartment! The Panorama at the top of each page is the view from our

Gagliano Aterno (6mins 4.8km)
The nearest Village to Secinaro probably about the same size
Castelvecchio Subequo (7mins 5.5km)
Small Piazza for Haidressers, Mobili, street Cafe, sculpure etc
Castel di Ieri (11mins 8.5km)
Location of the annual Rock Festival in August
Molina Aterno (8mins 6.6km)
Pretty route through to Raiano. Has a garage but cheaper further on!
Raiano (21mins 17.2km)
Pass through on the way to Raiano, the Autostrada or Sulmona
Goriano Sicoli (18mins 14.0km)
Couple of restaurantes and the Train Station to Pescara/Rome
Vittorito (29mins 23.1km)
Local wines/visit to brewinh facilities
Note: As we have Broadband available in the Apartment, you can easily do a Google Search for Details and Directions to any Location
E.g. Type in “Secinaro to Sulmona distance” to get (40mins 32km) which is a little further than the local villages but that’s where we do our
main supermarket shopping.
Lots going on around Ferragosto holiday on 15th August and the following week. Then, after 2nd week, it is back to “sleepy village”
The festivities are a good mixture of Family Fun Stuff, Italian Films in the Piazza, Religious Procession, Rock Music etc
